Anything Goes but must Recycle ... Feb 1 to Feb 14
Winners for our last challenge will be posted on Feb 15th on your Winners Page.

We're Back !!!

We hope everyone had a Great Holiday Season and is ready for another great year of Art and  Recycling. What a fantastic turn out we had for our combined last challenge of the year and beginning of  this year. There were so many wonderful entries we're sure the Team is going to have a hard time picking a Top 3. Just to make sure we have lots of time to finish visiting everyone's site, our Winners will be posted on the Winners Page on Feb 15th. Be sure to come back then and have a look to see if your name is listed. In the mean time we hope you will share some of your wonderful Art with us.

We Have Some Terrific News:

We are so happy to Welcome Rocky  (Rocke's Crafting Blog) as a new Member to our Team. She made the Folded Book Below, isn't it absolutely gorgeous. ok just gorgeous.

I started with one of these...

......and ended up with one of these.

Book folding unloved books from charity shops makes them into unusual and individual gifts.

With the addition of CS Design images the outside can become as good to look at as the inside.

The flower is made from some spare pages and an old button and the ribbon is from a box of chocolates.

And Now for some more wonderful Inspiration from our  very talented Team. Although we will always have Anything Goes, the Team will be bringing you some wonderful themes this year which we hope will inspire you to try playing in the these as well. For this challenge Judy and Lanie have cooked up some fabulous projects using recycled items from their Kitchen. Eventually we hope to go through every room in the house but this time if you want to try our theme instead of an Anthing Goes, you can use Everything but the Kitchen |Sink, well maybe the Kitchen Sink too.

 Prepare to be Amazed

This is what I started with for my recycle project - from the kitchen.

I decided to make some useful containers for our RV.  We have been snowbirds this year traveling the winter months in Arizona and California.   My pet peeve I have with my my dear hubby is that my table is always covered with his stuff (coins, hearing aids, eye drops, glasses etc).  It is getting in the way of my important crafting clutter.

I made these contains and decorated them with CS Designs Western Digital Stamps.  I thought these wonderful images were prefect for our RV,

I coloured my images and containers with Ink Intense Pencils,Uni-posca paint pen, Acrylic Paint Metallic Rub Ons and Distress Ink. The stars were cut out of the rice box, I used a an embossing folder to give the paper on the containers  some texture.

My life has been so hectic these days that I did not have time to create a project especially for our Recycle challenge this month, so instead I am sharing two projects I created for two other challenge blogs I design for.

These projects are new and went on-line Feb 1st and wanted to share them anyway because both projects use recycled items and though everyone might get some inspiration from them. Since I own and host this challenge blog, I though it ok and hope you enjoy seeing them. :)

The small shadow box is a thrift store find that was unpainted. The paper rose in the top right was made from packing paper material and dyed with re-inker ink and then I dry brushed glitter glue over it for a bit of sparkle. The tool netting behind the Paper rose was given to me by friend Phyllis, who always gives me anything she feels I can use in my Art. (Thank you Phyllis, I think of you every time I look at my little shadow box.  I used my Asian Bamboo digital background as the backdrop for all the alcoves. For the element on the bottom right I used my Asian Montage Framed Geisha 1

Below is a recycled altered child's board book. Inside I cut an alcove which serves to contain a metal heart which was one of a pair of earnings I found at a second hand shop. The image on the front is from an old postcard which I restored. She is so beautiful and have been wanting to use her for quite  while and this this little book was perfect for her.

You can find more information on how I created these on my Doodle Pieces Blog
